Tri the Parks-Blalock Lakes
Tri the Parks is a series on triathlon held in Georgia state parks. This one happened to be in nearby Newnan. This triathlon was a bit longer as it was not a super sprint but a sprint.
600 meter swim
14 mile bike
3.1 mile run
I am the closest "red" cap.
Somewhere out there!
The bike started out with a hill and continued with all rolling hills. Funny, I don't ever remember going DOWN any!
The run even started with a hill. Yes, that is an althete already finished and enjoying a snack!
I, we, finished!!!!
Warrior Dash Divas
Since I said "yes" to a triathlon I have foundmyself n the strangest places. Joanne, the Super Trainer Extradonaire, mentioned something about the Warrior Dash, and it must have been over heated that day because I said sure. Well I am glad I did because it rocked!
The "race" was suppose to be a 5k, thankfully it was shorter, with 11 obstacles. You can see one below. The best obstacle by far was jumping over FIRE!!!

No more furlough days!
Spring Break 2010
We had a great time in the Great Smokey Mountains over spring break. My mom treated us to the Dixie Stampede. Abbie got to see lots of horses. At one point I don't know what was more fun-watching the show or watching her! She had a great time!
The picture with the fog was taken from our condo balcony! Beautiful. Abbie loved the shops downtown Gatlinburg...I think we visited each at least twice. We went up the OberGatlinburg tram and had a great view of the city.
The weather was beautiful-only 1 rain day and we all needed it. It also made a good reason to visit the scrapbook outlet.

ShamRock and Run
Well today was the day, but let me start with Friday. My family has been great in supporting me with my running and now training for a triathlon, especially Abbie and Andy, so I treated the family to a night at Country Inn and Suites in Newnan. The hotel had an indoor pool which everyone liked, well almost everyone, Aeriell didn't pack her suit. I asked for a late checkout so after the run we were able to go back and swim a little longer.
Now for the run. I will say it was nice not getting up at o'dark thirty to drive to Newnan this morning. BRRRRR is was cold, damp, and windy. Abbie was a real trooper and thank you to Dad for "running" with her at the last minute. If you look closely at the picture of her at the finish line you will notice she is wearing socks on her hands...it was cold. She and Dad complete the race....yeah Dad...and Abbie got a medal....Dad just survived.
The announcer told me I had 15 minutes until the start of the 5k so I was able to see Abbie finish...Andy then said something like...honey I think the 5k started...I saw a lot of runners when we came up the hill! Ugh..not a way to start. But neverthelss, I took off and away I went. In the end I was able to shave 1 minute off from my first run in February.

Dad's Helper
Houdini Strikes Again
Houdini's food bowl was accidentaly covered when Abbie's clothes were being taken out of the dryer on morning. Well, Houdini is smart but no common sense to move the pj's off his food.
Apparently he left us a message letting us know that he wasn't real happy.
